The book provides introductory text to the basic principles of black liquor evaporation for young engineers in chemical recovery and detailed black liquor properties and scaling chapters which will serve as both a reference, and as a guide to troubleshooting and resolving scaling problems. This keeps the scope within the areas of expertise of the authors and also allows us to deliver the completed manuscript by 30 June 2015. Book will be written together with Jim Frederick. This proposal to SKY is for covering Niko DeMartini’s portion of the work. The money for Jim Frederick’s time is being proposed to AF&PA. The cost for Niko’s part in this proposed work is 14 750€ not including  VAT. This  includes a 1000€ honorarium for a European reviewer Lars Olauson as well as some money for travel/reporting  in Finland. This proposal does not include publishing.
